Pattern Development - Leaf Damask

Highlighting my Leaf Damask pattern today.

Sometimes a painting changes quite a bit so that it is barely recognizable from the original study. I never feel that my original artwork is so precious that it must remain visually connected to the pattern it becomes.

I create a lot of tossed repeat designs for my main designs but I love a more structured repeat for a blender.

See my plaid tutorial as an example of a great structured pattern you can create easily.

Leaf Damask is a mirrored -almost a mandala- repeat layout. It incorporates a linen texture overlay in a contrasting color. I am partial to textural effects!

I have 5 colors of this pattern in Spoonflower and it is my most popular pattern so far.

This pattern is truly universal and could be used on so many end-uses. What end-use would you use it for? Kitchen textiles, wallpaper, outdoor furniture, notebooks?
